Craftsman and Son

Image
Sometimes the background is just as important as the subject. That is the case in this shot, where the father and son's emotions are complemented by dim lighting and rays of light. The light coming from holes in the wall in this are accentuated by two smoke machines on both sides. The smoke cause the light to be much more visible, thus creating a good ambiance for the image. The lamps on the work table were added to give accent to the father's craft work. Gear List: Tronix Vulcan Tronix Explorer XT Here's how it was done: The smoke coming from the Tronix Vulcan makes the rays of light visible Tronix Vulcan: Smoke Machines ========================== Related Posts: Tronix Vulcan Images (10 Things to Buy when visiting Antipolo City) Tronix Vulcan: A Closer Look Using Tronix Vulcan

Role Reversal

Image
Role Reversal While it is a known fact that lighting is essential to photography, a lot of times artificial light is used as a substitute for natural sunlight. Although it doesn't seem like it, this shot was taken at 7 in the evening. With a speedlight and some makeshift blinds, this looks like it was taken no later than sunset. To add drama to the shot, old venetian blinds were placed 3 feet in front of a speedlight to get the shadow lines. Taking more than two dozen shots, it was not an easy effect to pull off. Good lighting and dependable gear made it possible. Gear List: Tronix Explorer XT Tronix Speedfire Makeshift Venetian Blinds Here's how it was done: A member of the team puts together makeshift blinds Unable to get the ideal shadows after several tests, the shoot took quite a while but the Explorer XT and the SpeedFire lasted through the shoot, providing power & faster recycling time just like it is connected to AC/wall socket

Windy Day

Image
Windy Day Marilyn Monroe made this shot famous more than 5 decades ago. Although she was the center of attention, it was the wind that made the shot so special. Some people don't realize that it would take a really strong gust of wind to create that effect. In this version, an air blower was set underneath the model to get the same result. Imagine what a hassle it would be to have to wait for a windstorm and shoot in it! Gear List: Tronix Portable Air Blower Tronix Auxiliary Battery Here's how it was done: Tronix Portable Air blower placed underneath the model to get that extra windy look Tronix Portable Air blower plugged into the Tronix Auxillary Battery

Capturing the Beauty of Spanish Colonial Era Houses (Acuzar Experience, Part 1)

Image
The Philippines boasts some of the most breathtaking sceneries in the world that would excite any photographer. The country's geographic location makes very diverse tourist destinations. Although the landscapes are what thrill most travelers, there are some attractions that feature something other than scenery. These little known places may not be as visually beautiful, but are equally mystifying. These places have years and years of history in its aged but sturdy foundations. It is a wonder how these wooden planks have remained intact. Not knowing when the next misfortune will hit and will endanger their memories. Hence, the important task of capturing the beauty of these places is left to photography. Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar , located in town of Bagac, Bataan, is a surreal step back to the times when streets were made of cobblestones and houses were built with brick. The best part about the little town is that the houses that are in it were collected from different parts o...
