Photographers will always have to face a situation of shooting outdoors. Most often, in locations where electricity is not always available and when natural light isn't just enough. Solutions to these problems, if you are going to bring your lighting equipment out on location, include long, unwieldy extension cables, gas-powered generators or inverters. Going with battery-powered inverter is the easiest and most flexible solution. If you are working with low to mid power lighting settings, (occasionally at high power) and needs to capture more frames, then Tronix Explorer XT SE would be your ideal unit.Though it may not give the fast recycling time compared to Exp XT3, its recycling time is decent enough in most photo shoots. Rated at 350watts (continuous) and recommended up to 2400ws, it can give around 500 full power pops (for Elinchrom BXRI500). At lower power settings, it can give more pops at faster recycling times. The Explorer XT SE was designed to power up bi-v...

Explorer Better Battery 101 Recently purchased an Explorer (XT3, XTSE or Mini) from us? As you enjoy its seamless capability, it is important to care for your device, so it would meet maximum performance every time. The explorer efficiency and portability can only be justified with a battery in great condition. Here are few points to remember in keeping your battery in a healthy state. Replenish Explorer's SLA batteries must be properly maintained by keeping it charged or by it charging every after usage. Remember that the energy used must be replenished – the same, exact principle when humans do extreme activities and drink water to reload electrolytes. Recharging your battery will contribute largely on its next load. Do the math Even 90% isn't enough. Undercharging your Explorer batteries may cause sulfation (crystallization of lead sulfates, making the materials inactive, directly affecting performance). Say the battery was only charged at 85%, the remaini...

Jimmy D is a well-known Photographer in USA. He organized a Photoshoot in Mojave Dessert California last March 2016 wherein h e used Tronix Explorer 500Li to power up a Photogenic 600ws monobloc to balance the light from dessert sun. Tronix Explorer 500Li  has a continuous power rating of 500watts and powered by LiFePO4 Li-ion battery. It can provide around 350 flashes using a 400w/s monolight (ref: Elinchrom DliteIT 4), or around 700 flashes with a spare battery and at recycling time close to that of the wall socket. Tronix Explorer 500Li is available in different socket. Thus, you can avail your preferred socket.
